With the helping hand of a Whistle™ Health smart device, you can understand your pooch better than ever before. Do I need a subscription to use Whistle™ Health?

Yes, you’ll need an annual subscription to use Whistle™ Health. This is so your device can connect to the data service needed to collect your pet’s data. For continued insights, the subscription will need to be renewed after 12 months. Cost £40 per year (as of November 2022), payable in the Whistle app.

How long will my Whistle™ Health battery last?

Your Whistle™ Health battery can last up to two weeks on a single charge, but we recommend charging your device once it hits 25%. The battery may run out quicker when connected to shaky WiFi or network coverage. Your USB charger will bring your Whistle™ Health device back to a full charge in about 90 minutes.

How do you calculate my pet’s activity?

Whistle™ Health uses a three-axis accelerometer (a tool used to measure acceleration) to estimate the total amount of energy your dog uses each minute. That estimate is then used to determine when your dog is resting, wandering around the house, or doing the zoomies. Data is collected over time to better understand your pet’s behaviour.

How do you arrive at health insights?

In short, it all comes down to sensors and a lot of measuring. Your Whistle™ Health device has sensors that take 150 measurements of your dog’s motion every second. Behaviour detection algorithms are then used to detect movements like scratching and licking.

How many days does my dog have to wear the Whistle™ Health before I can see results?

Whistle™ Health determines a baseline of your dog’s behaviour and lifestyle using data over the course of 7 days. Once this baseline has been established, it’s then possible to see changes and patterns in your dog’s behaviour.

Can I use WHISTLE™ Health for my cat?

Currently, WHISTLE™ Health only supports dogs.

What is the minimum recommended weight for a pet to wear WHISTLE™ Health?

For comfort, we recommend that WHISTLE™ Health be used on pets 5 lbs and up.

Is the Whistle Health waterproof?

The Whistle™ Health has a waterproof rating of IPX8, which means it can be submerged in water up to six feet deep for thirty minutes at a time. We always recommend rinsing and drying the tracker thoroughly before placing it on the charger.

What size is the Whistle™ Health?

The Whistle Health device is for dogs of all sizes and comes with 2 collar attachments to attach to your pup's existing collar. The length of the device is 3.8 cm, the height is 4 cm, and the width is 1 cm. It's super light and weighs less than 0.5 kilos.
