What if my pet does not like the product?

If your pet doesn’t like our product, this shouldn’t be anything to worry about. Just like us, pets can be choosy about what they fancy to eat and have likes and dislikes too.It sometimes helps to tempt them a few times and serving food at room temperature is what they prefer.If you’re changing their food, always remember to mix small amounts of the new food with their usual food for a few days, to avoid any upset.If you still have any concerns or need any more guidance from us, please get in touch with our Customer Care team so we can help you further.

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been placed you will receive a confirmation email from us which will contain your courier tracking number.Once the courier has your parcel, you will receive a ‘pre-delivery’ notification with your delivery date.On the morning of your delivery you will receive a further notification to give you an estimated time slot.If you are not going to be at home during this time slot please check your DPD page, where you should see options to arrange for your parcel to be left in a safe place etc.

Can I amend or cancel my order?

In order to send all of our orders with next working day delivery, they are processed very quickly.This means once you’ve placed your order it cannot be changed or cancelled. We do recommend thoroughly reviewing your order before placing it to ensure that everything is correct.

How do I add a discount code?

What can I do if only part of my order is delivered?

You may therefore receive the first half of your order a little earlier than the rest of your order. At the moment, some of our larger orders are split in our warehouse and delivered in separate parcels by our external courier DPD - we are reviewing ways to improve this process in the future. 

We advise you to check the shipping label on the parcel that you receive to see if there is more than one package that is scheduled for delivery with your order. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and if you have any further questions or require additional information about the status of your missing parcels, please contact our customer services team.

What is James Wellbeloved Loyalty Programme?

James Wellbeloved Loyalty programme is an online rewards programme designed for registered customers. To become a member you simply need to create an account on www.wellbeloved.com for free. Registered members can earn points in connection with the purchase of qualifying products at www.wellbeloved.com or completing qualifying actions. Points earned can be redeemed for a discount on products at Jameswellbeloved UK Website, provided a Member is using a minimum of 100 points and the minimum order value is £25.

How do I sign up for the loyalty programme?

Signing up is easy! To join, visit www.wellbeloved.com and create an account with a valid email and password. No purchase is necessary to sign up for the Loyalty programme.

How can I redeem points for the discounts?

Points earned by a Member may be redeemed for discounts on products at www.wellbeloved.com, provided a Member is using a minimum of 100 points and the order is minimum 25 pounds. Points cannot be redeemed for cash payouts. Customers receiving any existing ongoing or recurring discounts may not qualify.To redeem your points, you must follow the steps outlined below:

  • Ensure that you are logged in to your account.
  • Select the products you wish to purchase and add them to your cart.
  • Click on the cart icon located on the top right side of the screen.
  • Once you are in the cart, click on the "Proceed to Payment" button.
  • In the subsequent drop-down menu, select the desired amount of points you wish to use to complete the order.

How do I track my loyalty points & rewards?

You may view a summary your Loyalty programme points in your Account on the website. After logging onto the Website, simply click on the "My Account" link in the header of the Website homepage, then click to Your Rewards in the profile navigation. You will see your points balance, progress toward VIP Tier Membership, transaction history and eligibility for earning rewards point.

Is there a minimum order value to use a reward?

Yes, minimum order value to use a reward/ discount is £25.

Can I earn points for purchases made with a discount code or voucher?

You can earn points also if a discount our a voucher was applied, however amount of points earned will equal the value you paid. For example, if your order was £30 and you applied a discount of £5, you will get only 25 points.

What makes yours food naturally hypoallergenic?

To make our naturally hypoallergenic food, we exclude those ingredients from our recipes which surveys suggest are more likely to cause food intolerances, such as: wheat, dairy, beef, pork, eggs, soya.We cannot guarantee that traces of other proteins sources aren't present in our formulations as our products are produced in a factory that handles multiple proteins.

What does 'single source protein' mean in your pet food?

‘Single source’ protein means that there’s only one animal protein in our dog food or cat food. If it says turkey, you’ll only ever get turkey and it’s the same for chicken, lamb or duck. We cannot guarantee that traces of other proteins sources aren't present in our formulations as our products are produced in a factory that handles multiple proteins. Please note our High Protein range, Salmon Cat pouches and Canned Dog products contain more than one protein source.

Can I get samples ot try of your pet food?

We're so happy to hear that you're interested in trying our products. James Wellbeloved doesn’t produce samples but if you'd like to try out our products for your pet then we do have smaller bags you can try before committing to a larger bag as well as new customer offers via our homepage! What is the criteria for joining the breeder club?

To join the James Wellbeloved Breeder Scheme, you need to meet the following criteria:

Based in the UK

  • Own a minimum of 1 breeding bitch or 2 entire males (own registered KC affix or KC/IKC assured breeder documentation must be provided OR own a minimum of 1 queen or 2 entire males (own registered prefix documentation must be provided)
  • OR registered with local council as a breeder and regulations and license requirements adhered to
  • PLUS Breeders must not breed from a brood bitch or queen if the litter would be born before the brood bitch or queen is 12 months old, or after 8 years old
  • New litters must be registered with James Wellbeloved within 4 weeks of birth
  • Breeders must confirm information about individual breeding stock/puppy details

How do I place an order?

Placing an order with us is easy!

  • Simply enter your desired quantity, choose if you wish to make a one-time purchase or to set up a recurring order on subscription, then hit ‘Add to cart’.
  • Once you have added all your products to the cart, open it by clicking on the cart icon in the top right hand corner of the page.
    Click ‘Checkout’ and fill out your delivery and contact info, as well as your discount code if you have one!
  • Press ‘Continue to shipping’ to review your order
  • Then hit ‘Continue to payment’ to add your payment details.
    Click on ‘Pay now’ to process your payment, once this is complete you will land on an order confirmation screen to indicate that your order has successfully been placed.
  • You will also receive an email confirming your order has gone through!

Why can't I find the full package of James Wellbeloved products in the shop?

We are working hard to ensure we can stock your pet’s preferred food on the site.

We are looking into various delivery options and want to ensure we can offer the best value and minimise the shipping costs for all of our customers. At this stage we can offer you the best value through shipping cases of our products.

Can you send me a measuring cup with my order?

Sadly we no longer produce James Wellbeloved measuring cups.

All of our recommended feeding amounts are in grams. To make sure that your pet’s getting the right amount, it’s always best to weigh the food.

I don't want to participate in the Loyalty programme. How can I cancel my participation?

You may cancel your Loyalty programme membership at any time by reaching out to our consumer care team at help@wellbeloved.com or by calling us on 0800 731 2301. Upon cancellation, any unused points accrued in your account will be forfeited and cannot be redeemed.

Who is eligible to join Loyalty programme?

Every customer can join our Loyalty programme except for Breeders and Mars Employees who are, unfortunately, are not eligible to join the programme.

Do my loyalty programme points expire?

No, there is no expiration date for the points. However, you points will expire after 12 months of Rewards account inactivity. This means that if there is no change to your Rewards account balance (through either the addition or redemption of Rewards), all Rewards earned in the previous 12 months will automatically be removed from your account. Please note that this doesn’t include earning points for Birthday and Anniversary. For example, if you were inactive and only received points for Birthday or Anniversary, your account will be considered inactive.

What does inactive rewards account mean?

Inactivity includes not interacting with our programme i.e., redeeming points, placing an order, etc. Please note that this doesn’t include earning points for Birthday and Anniversary. For example, if you were inactive and only received points for Birthday or Anniversary, your account will be considered inactive. Your points will expire after one year of inactivity.

How to earn points for completing tasks/ challenges?

The James Wellbeloved Loyalty programme includes opportunities to earn bonus points for taking certain actions (for example, following us on Facebook, reading a blog etc.). To earn these points, a member must be logged in when taking an action. Points earning opportunities can be found under the “My Rewards” section of your Account. These point earning opportunities may change at any time.

How do you round up the points?

Members earn one (1) point for every one pound (£1) spent on www.wellbeloved.co.uk. Points are rounded down. For example, if you spend £19.99, you will receive 19 points. Calculation is as follows: £19.99 x 1 point per pound = 19.99 points, which is rounded down to 19 points.

“Silver” Tier Member Points. All Silver Tier Members earn points based on a base earning rate that is 25% higher than the Bronze Tier Member's rate (i.e., 1.25 points for every one pound spent on qualifying products or services, as described above).

I didn't receive my points after completing a challenge, what do I need to do?

Double-check you were signed into your rewards account and didn’t accidentally check out as a guest. You must be logged in when making purchases to earn points. You also won’t receive points if you return your purchase or your purchase is canceled for any reason. I should have earned points for a purchase/incentive but I didn’t see my account balance change. Did I get credit?

Yes! You work hard to earn points and we want you to feel confident that all of your points are right where they should be . . . in your account! The first thing to note is that there may be a delay in our systems communicating and points could take anywhere from minutes to several hours to appear in your account. However, if you feel like you have earned points but they are not showing up in your account you can also troubleshoot it with these tricks:

1. Try to refresh your browser.

2. Try to log out and then back in to your account.

3. Check your ‘Rewards history’ in your Rewards account to see if the points were added without you realizing it. Your ‘Rewards history’ will show you the number of points earned, how and when they were earned, as well as any redemptions of points made on your account.

How long does it take for my loyalty programme points to appear in my account?

The points will appear in your account once your order is shipped.

Can I earn points for in-store purchases? (offline)

Not at this time, you will not be able to earn or apply rewards points toward purchases in-store. Currently our Loyalty programme is designed only for online purchases at www.wellbeloved.com

Is there any limit on how many points can I earn?

No, that’s the best part about being a Loyalty programme member! You will always have an opportunity to earn more points by shopping with us, engaging with our brand and community online.

Can I get points for purchases made before joining JWB loyalty programme?

You will only receive points for purchases made after creating your rewards account. Make sure to create an account before placing an order so you can receive points!

How do I reach a higher tier? (VIP programme)

To reach our VIP tier you need to spend 600 pounds in one year.

How do I know in which tier do I belong to?

When you are signed into your rewards account, your home page will list all of the rewards tiers. Your current tier and perks will be highlighted with a box around it.

Can I transfer my loyalty programme account or points to someone else's account?

No, you will receive an account that is tied to your unique, valid email. programme accounts and points are not transferable and are not for sale, resale or barter.

Can I earn points for purchases made with a discount code or voucher?

No, discounts cannot be combined.

How do I review my reward points balance?

Your rewards points balance is visible on your account page in the tab "Loyalty programme".

Can I use multiple discounts at a check out?

No, discounts cannot be combined.

If I use my points on my order and it falls below 25, will I still receive free shipping?

No, to receive free shipping your order should be at least 25 pounds after a discount was applied.

When will I get the points for my birthday reward?

On your birthday we will send you a special discount code via email valid for 30 days from the date of your birthday!

*Your birthday code is non-transferable and may not be sold or assigned to anyone else. If we feel someone is trying to manipulate the programme, we reserve the right to terminate your account at our discretion.

I signed up for the Birthday Bonus but I didn’t receive it?

Happy Birthday! We’re so glad that you have chosen to celebrate with us through our rewards programme. In order for you to receive your birthday bonus on your birthday, you must register your birthday at least 30 days prior to your birthday.

If your birthday falls between the day that you registered and the 30 day waiting period afterwards, you will receive your birthday bonus 30 days after your registration. This delay is only applicable for the first year that you signed up.

All successive birthday bonuses will be emailed to you on your birthday. If you register your birthday through your rewards account any time after it has passed in the current calendar year, rewards will not be added to your account until the day of your birthday in the following year.

Remember, the birthday reward is determined by the Rewards member tier that you are part of on the date of your birthday. If it has been more than 30 days since you registered for your birthday reward and you still have not received the additional points in your account, please contact our friendly consumer care team and we will be happy to assist you.

Can I earn points for purchases made outside the UK?

No. At this moment, our Loyalty programme is designed only for the UK market and purchases made on www.wellbeloved.com

What is the difference between a birthday reward and anniversary reward?

At James Wellbeloved, we want to make sure that our packaging is as environmentally friendly as possible, whilst not compromising on its quality and durability.Quality packaging helps to make sure the products your pets love arrive safely, so we need to find ways to keep protecting our products while doing as little harm as possible to the world around us. Currently, our cans are able to be recycled and we are working really hard on re-designing the rest of our packaging so that 100% of it is recyclable!

Does your products contain any artificial colours. flavours or antioxidants?

We choose the finest quality ingredients nature has to offer for all of our products. Each one has its own health benefits, as you’ll discover. What you won’t see, however, is any added artificial colours, flavours or antioxidants. Not now, not ever.

How should feeding routines change during a dogs pregnancy?

Gestation (pregnancy) in the dog lasts for around 9 weeks.

Growing multiple puppies inside her then producing enough milk to feed them all for 5 to 8 weeks takes an enormous amount of energy. For the first 6 weeks of pregnancy, she will be OK with her normal food allowance but, in the last 3 weeks, she will need up to 30% more food than before she became pregnant and, when her milk production is at its peak in weeks 3 to 4, she will need up to 3.5 times her normal food supply. It is simply not possible for her to eat enough food to supply all the energy she needs to produce that milk so she also converts some of her body fat into extra energy and one would expect her to have lost up to 10% of her normal weight by the time the pups are weaned.

Because of this, she needs to be in peak condition at mating. If she is underweight, the unborn puppies can be smaller and there will be a higher risk of mortality when they are born. If she is overweight, the unborn puppies can be too big which can make for difficult births.

Because she needs so much energy but has a limited appetite, she needs a food with higher levels of energy than normal. Our Puppy and Large breed Junior foods are both designed to also meet the requirements of the lactating bitch and should be fed instead of the normal adult food from the 6th week of pregnancy. Using our James Wellbeloved puppy food also gives the puppies an introduction to their first solid food. Multiple meal-times allow the bitch to eat more and, in weeks 2 to 4 of lactation, it is a good idea to give her constant free access to food.

Can your food help if I have an overweight dog?

Compared to our standard adult foods our light dog food has more fibre to help your dog feel fuller for longer. It also has increased levels of protein so they maintain muscle, whilst losing fat. Added taurine supports the heart, while JW+ is added to support the joints that are under more strain with overweight dogs.

What is grain free dog food and is right for my dog?

A lot of our dogs simply enjoy a grain free diet but some dogs that have sensitivities to cereals may actually need to eat a grain free diet to avoid the unpleasant symptoms of food intolerance. We have crafted a range of meals that do not include cereals in the recipe such as rice and barley but use peas and potatoes instead.

As our products are produced in a factory that also handles grains, we cannot guarantee that traces of grains are not present in our formulations. Please make sure you consult a vet if you observe adverse food reactions or allergies in your pet.

What is higher protein dog food and is it right for my dog?

Protein is the most important nutrient when it comes to supporting the physical demands of an active dog. Our High Protein range contains the highest protein range within all of our James Wellbeloved products and has been carefully formulated with active pets in mind providing up to 70% of ingredients from Animal Sources. Our duo animal protein sourced product provides your dog with more variety but also a higher protein level to help support a full and active lifestyle. Our High Protein product helps to keep your dog in optimum condition when consistently performing such as the likes of a working or agility dog. We also have our standard small, adult and large breed ranges to cater towards the average family member.

Can I alternate freely between feeding my dog the turkey, chicken, lamb, duck or fish variants?

Each of our dog food recipes are appealingly delicious in their own way and we hope your dog will love them all. Many dogs can change their food without experiencing any form of tummy upset. However we would recommend you introduce new foods gradually over 3-5 days. If your dog suffers from food intolerance it may be best to stick with your dog’s favourite James Wellbeloved recipe!

Do I need to buy wet dog food as well as dry?

Our dry dog food is complete and balanced, so there is no need to add wet, however your dog may prefer the addition of our wet food. So feel free to mix them together to add to their enjoyment. For advice on what quantities to feed them, see our feeding guides.

How does homemade food compare to James Wellbeloved dog food?

James Wellbeloved food is complete and balanced and contains all the nutrients your pet needs to thrive. It has been carefully prepared and cooked in our own factory and then tested to ensure it is safe for your pet. Many owners feed table scraps but these shouldn’t exceed 5% of the pet’s daily calorie intake.

I accidentally bought small breed food, can I feed this to my regular or large sized dog?

Our Small Breed Adult food is tailored to dogs weighing 10kg and under. If your dog weighs over this then we’d advise to feed either our Adult or Large Breed Adult food, that depending on their breed size will be more tailored to them.
However, if you cannot return the product to the store you purchased it from or from us then please be aware of the calorific difference between the two foods.

Depending on which flavour you feed, our Large Breed Adult food is between 368-378 kcals per 100g and our Small Breed Adult Food is between 354- 372 kcals per 100g. Our Grain Free Small Breed Adult Turkey & Veg product has 362 kcals per 100g.

We would advise you to work out how many calories you were feeding your dog on their previous food or the correct product and then adjust the amount you feed them of the Small Breed formula to ensure they are being fed the correct amount and getting enough calories per day.

I accidentally bought large breed food, can I feed this to my regular sized dog?

Our Large Breed food is tailored to dogs weighing 25kg and over. If your dog weighs less than this, then our Adult food is better tailored to them, and we’d advise for them to stay on this if possible!

If you do decide to keep your dog on the Large Breed Adult food, please be aware of the calorific difference between the two foods:

Depending on which flavour you feed, the regular Adult food is between 348-359kcal per 100g, and the Large Breed Adult food is between 364-376kcal per 100g.

We would advise you to work out how many calories you were feeding your dog on their previous feed, and then adjust the amount you feed them of the Large Breed formula to ensure not to overfeed!

Can I switch my dog to James Wellbeloved dry dog food straightaway?

Your dog’s digestive system isn’t as quick as yours at adapting when switching diets. So, to avoid them getting an upset tummy we recommend gradually introducing James Wellbeloved or any new food slowly over the course of 5-7 days.

We suggest:
25% new diet with 75% of the previous diet for 2 – 3 days
50% new diet with 50% of the previous diet for 2 – 3 days
75% new diet with 25% of the previous diet for 2 – 3 days
100% new diet

Don’t forget you can still give them our wet dog food as well to add to their enjoyment.

Do you make puppy food?

Of course – we believe a naturally healthy diet should start as early as possible. Our puppy food is nutritionally balanced and is gentle on their developing digestion. And we have both grain-free and rice-based recipes so you can chose the best food to suit your puppy.

What makes your puppy food suitable for my puppy?

Everything. We want the very best for your puppy. That’s why our puppy food contains higher levels of protein and fat to support growth and the right amounts of calcium and phosphorus for their growing bones. The kibbles are smaller too, to suit smaller mouths.

When should I start to feed my puppy James Wellbeloved puppy food?

Our puppy foods are suitable for feeding from 6-8 weeks.

When should I wean my puppy?

From around 2-3 weeks puppies can be offered small amounts of kibble moistened in warm water several times a day. Gradually reduce the liquid until the puppies are fully weaned. All moist food should be replaced on a regular basis.

What is the difference between puppy and junior food?

Puppy and junior food are both formulated for growing dogs. All puppies once weaned at around 6-7 weeks should be fed on James Wellbeloved puppy food.

Depending on the adult size of the dog your puppy may benefit from being fed a junior food designed as a follow on food for medium and large breed dogs. It’s all to do with the age at which dogs mature For example small dogs will be mature at 6 months and can gradually move onto their own small breed adult food then; whilst large dogs will continue to grow well into their second year and will benefit from being fed a large breed junior food.

The age of maturity for dogs is related to their adult size. So your small terrier will be a grown up at around 6 months whilst a Great Dane will not mature until it is over 18 months old. Can your food help I have an overweight cat?

Unfortunately pet obesity is a growing problem in the UK which is why James Wellbeloved light food is specially formulated if you have an overweight adult cat. It contains around 85% of the calories of standard adult cat food. However, if your cat has a firm favourite of another product within our cat range then we can also recommend to follow our indoor / overweight feeding guidelines on pack.

How does your light food help with my cat's weight?

Compared to our adult and senior cat foods our light cat food contains higher levels of protein and lower levels of fat to promote weight loss and lots of fibre to keep your cat feeling fuller for longer. Added taurine supports the heart, while glucosamine and chondroitin support the joints that are under more strain with fat cats.

Can James Wellbeloved help with keeping my cats teeth healthy?

It’s important to keep your cat’s teeth clean and healthy. The most effective way of reducing plaque and calculus is regularly brushing your cat’s teeth. We also have our Oral Health product where the kibble is larger in comparasion to our Adult cat diets, our specially designed kibble encourages your cat to chew more on the kibble thus provide a deeper cleaning action.

What is Grain Free cat food and is it right for my cat?

A lot of our cats simply enjoy a grain free diet but, some cats that are sensitive to cereals may need to eat a grain free diet to avoid the unpleasant symptoms of food intolerance. We have carefully crafted a range of meals that use a single animal protein, Turkey combined with healthy vegetables. They are also naturally hypoallergenic and wholesome.

The Kitten foods are high in energy and formulated to meet all the mother’s mineral and vitamin requirements during this time. They also have the advantage of supplying the kittens with the correct food as they get close to weaning.

When weaning is complete and the kittens are removed, the mother can be encouraged to stop producing milk by fasting her for a day, then gradually building up to her normal allowance over the next few days.

Do you make kitten food?

What is the criteria for joining the Breeder Club?

To join the James Wellbeloved Breeder Scheme, you need to meet the following criteria:

• Based in the UK
• Own a minimum of 1 breeding bitch or 2 entire males (own registered KC affix or KC/IKC assured breeder documentation must be provided)
• OR own a minimum of 1 queen or 2 entire males (own registered prefix documentation must be provided)
• OR registered with local council as a breeder and regulations and license requirements adhered to
